The Dominican Republic!   What a great place for a vacation.   There isn't much to do on the island, but the beautiful water and great people make up for the lack of excursions.
If you need a place to go to just get away from things and relax, this is the place.  There is no way that you can not relax here.  Just sitting under the little grass huts and watching the waves roll in is enough to put you in a trance.

If you're really into trying a different drink.....something that you can only get on this island, try some MamaWanna......but be careful.  It is made from the bark and berries from the island, and I'm sure a few other things.  Rum and wine are the alcohol that is mixed in...I also think I tasted some honey in it!

There is a small shopping plaza that you can go to, but don't plan on buying a lot of stuff.  Gifts are very limited.

Would I go back there for another week of vacation......not really.  If he price was right, well yes, but to me there are so many other places to go and see.......one of my all time favorite places to go to has beer drinking pigs ....do you know where I'm talking about?  Wait until I post the pictures....you can't help but smile.

The first picture on this post is of the airport in Punta Cana.  It is an open-air building and when you come in to the airport you will be greeted by some of the locals singing and handing you a drink.  It r
really started the trip off  on a nice note.
