Bird of Paradise

Turtle Bay
If you ever want to go to paradise, this is the place.   My daughter is stationed there and I have been lucky enough to go there with my husband 3 times to see her.  The first time was to help her move into her condo, so there wasn't much sight seeing that trip.  We did make up for it on the next one.  She ran us ragged!  I think we saw more of the island than some of the islanders.....

I have to say that going to Hanauma Bay was one of the highlights of the trip.  The water was the prettiest aqua blue and lime green...I was told about the color but to get up close and see it for myself brought tears to my eyes.

Also, if you have the chance go see the sea turtles at Turtle Bay.  You can pull over in your car and walk along the water and I swear the turtles on the beach look like the large rocks that are in the sand...We spent a lot of time just taking pictures there and watching them lay in the sun.

My daughter said we couldn't leave the island without having a REAL Mai Tai.....so we headed over to the other side of the island to Honolulu.....where the famous "DUKE'S" is located...wow, she was right, they have the best drinks and an awesome view.  You can sit and sip on your cocktail and watch paddleboarders, surfers, and booze cruises all at once!  There is so much going on that you never have to leave your table....just make sure to count your drinks, two Mai Tais should do it.

There are so many things to do on the island....I feel that Hawaii is not just a place, but it is a feeling!   If you're interested in knowing about other things there is to do on Oahu, please let me know.  I could go on and on about all of the wonderful things that we did there.
